Job description

About Nimbus Software

Nimbus Software builds real-time analytics dashboards for energy retailers. Our customers monitor consumption, pricing and alerts from a single web product used by operations teams all day long.

The role

We are hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to own product surfaces end to end, from the component library to the release pipeline.

What you will do:

  • Own dashboard surfaces end to end: design, implementation, testing and release.
  • Keep our real-time analytics views fast and predictable under heavy data updates.
  • Evolve the shared component library and its documentation.
  • Raise the testing bar: unit, integration and end-to-end coverage with CI gates.
  • Lead technical discussions and mentor mid-level engineers through code review.

What we look for:

  • 5+ years of professional frontend experience with React and TypeScript.
  • Experience with data-heavy interfaces: tables, charts, streaming updates.
  • Strong opinions on state management and data fetching, with the trade-offs to back them.
  • A record of improving quality: testing, accessibility, performance budgets.
  • Clear written English; the team works async across four time zones.

Nice to have:

  • Real-time UIs over WebSockets or server-sent events.
  • Design system ownership across teams.
  • Experience mentoring and running frontend guilds.

Our hiring process

  1. Screening call.
  2. Frontend system discussion (your past work, our current problems).
  3. Team fit conversation and offer.

Work Experience

Aeronix LogisticsFrontend Developer | Apr 2021 - Aug 2026
Freightline Control (cargo operations console)Jan 2023 - Aug 2026
  • Modernized Aeronix's cargo operations console, a real-time React application that replaced dozens of spreadsheets and internal tools.
  • Adopted AI agentic development as my main way of working: research, implementation, review and testing of the output, with human review on every change.
  • Designed a shared design system with more than 30 accessible components, used by two teams and versioned with controlled changes.
  • Migrated state management and data fetching to Redux Toolkit and React Query, removing boilerplate layers and simplifying the flows.
  • Raised test coverage with Vitest and React Testing Library until weekly releases were sustainable with controlled regressions.
  • Cut initial load time with code splitting and lazy loading of heavy modules, measuring the impact on every release.
  • Audited and fixed accessibility in the main flows: semantic HTML, visible focus, contrast and keyboard navigation.
  • Wrote prompts and workflow guides for the team, shortening repetitive tasks without skipping code review.
Customer portal (self-service)Apr 2021 - Dec 2022
  • Built signup and quoting forms with client-side validation, clear error states and draft saving.
  • Integrated the app with internal and external REST APIs, modeling loading states, errors and retries.
  • Wrote the E2E suite for the signup flows with Playwright, running in CI on every merge.
Solmar Retail TechFrontend Developer | Jan 2019 - Mar 2021
Online store checkoutJan 2019 - Mar 2021
  • Built the complete checkout flow in React, with cart, payment methods and confirmation, for more than twenty brand stores.
  • Drove the adoption of behavior-focused tests in the team, targeting user flows instead of implementation details.
  • Worked in two-week sprints with refinement, daily and retrospective, collaborating with design and backend.
